The above implantation of bags is what most people think of when they hear of breast augmentation. Currently, the women that have the biggest breast augmentations (some would say cartoonishly enormous tits) actually have very little added to their breasts by the surgeon.

The method of their breast augmentation is known as polypropylene string implants. The implants are made of plastic resin strings about the size and shape of yarn.

When they're initially implanted they obsorb fluid and their additional bulk provides a small initial increase in breast size. That's where where the similarity to traditional breast implants begins and ends.

The plastic strings are designed to irritate the breast tissue. This sounds as if it's very uncomfortable but apparently it isn't. The irritation causes fluid to accumulate in the breasts. This fluid continues to accumulate month after month for as long as the string remains there.

Since it is this fluid, produced by the womans own breasts, that causes the breast to expand, some of the women that have had this surgery will tell you that their massive breast size is natural!!

In recent years, polypropylene string implants for breast augmentation has become illegal in the United States. Only a small number of women in the world still have them and these are mainly in the big-bust entertainment industry.
